In September 2008 in collaboration with the FIMA group IT employees redesign of the trading software PIS begun. The software is used with the FIMA Vrijednosnice brokers, belonging to one of the most successful brokerage companies in the Republic of Croatia.
The redesign includes replacement of the present development tool Centura Builder with Oracle ADF Swing technology due to increasing problems in maintenance, upgrading and meeting the users’ requirements. The software should keep all present functions and the operation mode in order to facilitate the users’ adaptation.
Prior to selection of the new technology the users’ needs and way of operation were scrutinized and prior to the implementation a detailed analysis of the present functions was conducted in order to determine the disadvantages and required new functions.
The redesign process has been completed and is currently tested by the users. The software was installed on the IBM WebSphere application server and the users access it using the Java Web Start technology.
