Upcoming Changes to JetBrains Continuity Discounts

Big changes are coming to the way continuity discounts work for JetBrains subscriptions. Starting January 2, 2025, the continuity discount policy will see some important adjustments that will affect how new organizational subscriptions are priced.

What’s Changing?

From January 2, 2025, continuity discounts will no longer be available for new licenses. This applies to all JetBrains IDEs, .NET tools, and bundles like the All Products Pack and dotUltimate.

However, if you are currently enjoying a continuity discount on your existing licenses, you don’t have to worry—nothing will change for those. For instance, if your team has 100 licenses for IntelliJ IDEA Ultimate at a 40% discount, you will continue to benefit from that discount for as long as you keep those licenses. It’s only new purchases made after January 2, 2025, that will not have a continuity discount.

Make the Most of the Current Discounts

If you are considering expanding your toolkit and want to take advantage of the current discounted rates, now is the time to act. Purchases made before January 2, 2025, will continue to enjoy the existing continuity discounts.

Upgrades Still Retain Their Discount

There’s some good news for anyone thinking about upgrading their licenses. JetBrains will maintain the continuity discount for upgrades from single IDE licenses to broader packages like the All Products Pack or dotUltimate. For example, if you have an IntelliJ IDEA Ultimate license with a 40% discount, you can still upgrade to the All Products Pack and retain that discount. This allows you to enjoy a richer JetBrains experience at your current discounted rate.

Just keep in mind that downgrades won’t be eligible for the discount—only upgrades.

What Does This Mean for You?

These changes are part of JetBrains’ commitment to invest in future growth and continuous innovation. To continue enjoying the value of JetBrains tools at their best rate, it’s important to understand how this new policy impacts your plans for expanding your JetBrains subscriptions.

If you’re ready to grow your toolkit or upgrade your licenses, now is the perfect time. Before the new policy kicks in on January 2, 2025, you can still secure the same great value you’ve been enjoying.

Stay tuned, and let’s keep building amazing things together with JetBrains tools!
