Oracle regional conference in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia

Neos has successfully carried out a complete web and mobile support for Oracle’s regional conference – Oracle Partner Executive Forum Ethiopia, Partnering for Africa, which was held September 04-05, 2012 in Addis Ababa.

The conference brought together key partner executives from Africa, the Middle East, Russia, Turkey, and Eastern Europe. This was an opportunity for professionals and business leaders to discuss the key IT challenges and developments in Africa and get strategic insights into Oracle partner business in the entire region.

For Neos, this was an important pilot project that will open doors for delivering similar solutions for all Oracle conferences in the ECEMEA region.

Support applications Neos provided for this conference were:

  • the BACKEND application (intended for administration, monitoring, statistical reporting) and
  • mobile application Partnering for Africa (intended for end users)

The complete support was carried out via Oracle technology, while Neos ADF KickStart was used as the basis for creating the admin application.

Thanks to Neos’ solutions, all the participants had an interactive access to conference contents with the possibility of current business and social networking through the Internet and mobile devices. Through backend application with simple administration and conference statistics, the organizers tracked participants’ reactions to the conference with an immediate response via social networks.

Neos has offered innovative solutions for simple social networking via Twitter and LinkedIn. LinkedIn users were able to automatically fill in the registration form with their data and, optionally, link with their profile to Business Networking. Through Twitter, they were able to personalize their profile at the conference, with their own lecture schedules and contact information visible to other users.

This project followed the successful completion of a similar one carried out for the Oracle Day conference held in March in Zagreb, for which Neos has provided the following set of support applications:

  • Website www.oracleday.hr
  • Mobile website
  • Admin application for maintaining content, the definition of the agenda, and registration tracking
  • iPad application for registering participants in the fast lane
