Oracle PaaS Partner Community Forum – Split 2017.

Oracle PaaS Partner Community Forum 2017 was held in Split just couple days ago, from 27th to 31st March. The Forum was located in hotel Le Méridien Lav, which was a great space to combine great energy we shared during this Forum. Lots of informations about Oracle Cloud solutions, over 200 Oracle experts, updates on the Middleware solutions & cloud services and many more.
Apart Oracle Open World this was a rare opportunity to see such a great number of Oracle A team members at the same place giving importance to Pass forum in Split.

Frist three days was classic conference with Forum opening and host during the whole time, Jurgen Kress (PaaS & Middleware Partner Community Forum Conference Chair). After warm, in Oracle way welcoming speech, there was presentation from Product Manager such as Maciej Gruszka (Senior Principal Product Manager at Oracle) and Peter Nagy (principal Product Manager at Oracle), Pre-Sales Consultant and Partner. They all shared their experience with implementing Oracle PaaS & Middleware solutions and tried to bring and give partners new opportunities to build, customize and integrate their applications in a cloud environment. The whole agenda of this Forum was to compile all benefits from this new cloud offerings.

Beside Oracle partners there also were several Oracle Coud product managers and key experts such as Vikas Annand (Vice President Product Management), Jean-Marc Gottero (Vice President, EMEA A/C Cloud Sales/Strategy), Lucas Jellema (Solution Architect), Mike Lehmann (Vice President Product Management) and many others. All of them gave us some new informations about Oracle plans and product roadmaps for next years, unlocked for us new features in the products and primarily gave us some hints how to better use and to make more successful use of Oracle technology.

Focus of this Fusion Middleware Partner Community Forum was Paas (Platform as a Service) Cloud Computing and we found out a great deal about Integration Cloud Services, API managment, Process and Mobile Cloud Service etc.
In summary, quick walk through of Forums first three days:

  • API First – new application design approach, Apiary (new Oracle acquisition)
  • ACEs implementing successful PaaS solutions
  • how to innovate Oracle Cloud Platform – from building and integrating to analyzing and securing solutions
  • updates and roadmap details for PaaS & Middleware solutions
  • four different breakout tracks:
    • Enterprise Integration
    • BPM & User experience
    • Application Development
    • Mobile & Internet of Things

For the last two days of Forum we can only say: hands-on boot camps. From Integration Cloud Service and API Cloud service to Process Cloud Services it was two day of exchanging ideas, learning new ways of making work process more successful. We discussed about new approach of developing applications primarily designed for cloud services such as Java Cloud services, Mobile Cloud services, Process Cloud services, IoT (Internet of Things) Cloud services and Integration Cloud service that connects all Cloud services listed above.

And for the end, well, what can we say.

Great event, great experience that we shared with 200 representatives from Oracle PaaS and Middleware partners from over 30 countries and that says a lot for itself.

It was a great conference. We learned some new things, get several brand new ideas and are very happy that Oracle is pushing Cloud and sharing their knowledge with their partners.

Jurgen Kress did a great job with organization and building a great and innovative Oracle community in Split.
