On the 16th HrOUG Conference

The 16th Oracle User Group Conference was held from 18th to 22nd October 2011, on the Red Island near Rovinj. It hosted over 440 attendees who enjoyed in 100 lectures and 17 workshops. The conference was opened with an introduction lecture from Jean Claude Michaca, the Vice President of Fusion Middleware, who talked about the social media impact in the corporate world.

This year Neos held a lecture and workshops for the conference. Within the Fusion Middleware, Tino Cindrić held a lecture titled „WebLogic Configuration Management in Java“ https://bit.ly/o8P4lF.

Ivo Vrban held a workshop titled „OBIEE v10 and v11 Usage Comparasion“ https://bit.ly/pvYDkV. It was well attended and the attendees had many questions about the problems they encountered while working with OBIEE tools. Ivo helped them with practical advice and his own experience in working with the tools.

Andreja Sambolec’s workshop titled „Rapid ADF development with Neos ADF KickStart“https://bit.ly/qz66IN received only positive criticism. In her workshop she showed how the ADF KickStart application could be used further, for a new application development.

The lectures on Oracle Cloud strategy were also interesting as well as this year’s greatest news – Java day. Java day was filled with useful lectures on application development using JPA, STRUTS and similar technologies. Considering that it is the Oracle strategic development platform, we expected more information on ADF technology, but there just few ADF related lectures. However, on the last conference day we got a chance to listen to Steve Munech (https://blogs.oracle.com/smuenchadf/) who presented the JDeveloper 11gR2 news.

We hope to see you all next year.
