Avnet – Tech Data Solution Days for SEE conference was held last week at Novi Spa Hotels & Resort in Novi Vinodolski. It is a regional technology conference that presents the best-in-class solutions developed by Oracle, IBM and Lenovo partner companies. There were around twenty-five presentations at this year’s event, covering topics ranging from security and Internet-of-things to datacenter and data analysis technologies. The conference attracted IT experts from countries across Southeast Europe.

NEOS was represented by Davorin Capan, CTO, Davor Stanić, Executive Manager and Dean Mišić, System integration consultant, who gave a lecture on integration of Oracle Big Data Appliance into a secure enterprise environment.

Dean demonstrated the best practices in integrating BDA into DW/BI environments, emphasizing the versatility and utility of large amounts of data processed by the system. He also showed how large enterprises that employ this solution easily access data from different sources in full compliance with security regulations.

“Realizing the increasing importance of using Big Data in today’s business, we acquired an Oracle Big Data Appliance several years ago. This, on one hand, enabled us to test the solution in real-world scenarios, and on the other, allowed our consultants to acquire the required knowledge much faster”, said Mišić.

The main feature of Oracle Big Data Appliance integrated into an enterprise environment is its ability to provide users with a completely new set of information derived from unstructured data from vast amount of sources such as social media, browsing data, sensor logs and others, thus generating a significant added value for the company.

Oracle BDA is easily integrated with Oracle Exadata Database Machine and Oracle Exalytics In-Memory Machine, which ensures the best application and functionality mix for business planning and business intelligence.

As part of Avnet – Tech Data Solution Days for SEE conference awards have been granted for excellent performance and NEOS’ CTO, Davorin Capan received the award for “Sales performance in 2016, in the category Oracle Business Analytics”.
