12-13 October we visited the Liferay European Symposium in Frankfurt. This year everyone was pleasantly surprised by the large number of visitors, even double than last year.
Everything was concentrated about Liferay Portal 6 EE version, but the vision for Liferay 6.1. was also presented. Some of the news: integration with jBPM, content sharing, JMX monitoring, auditing framework, integration with Documentum, Alloy UI, better performances… One of the news is also Social Equity – it enables evaluation of users within the community – how much everyone contributes to the community and the possibility to rank the users.
It now allows for faster and simpler development of Liferay plugins (portlets, templates…) by using Liferay IDE, available as Eclipse plugin.
In 6.1. version we can also expect faster development for mobile applications, workflow form, video support, faster learning and documentation…
