JavaCro’14 conference review

The third international Java conference, JavaCro’14, organized by the Croatian Java User Association (HUJAK) and the Croatian Oracle User Group (HrOUG) was held May 12 – 13 in Poreč. It gathered over 200 participants who enjoyed lectures from Croatian and foreign experts.

Unofficial part of the conference was opened with the Texas Hold’em poker tournament in which our Iva Jelenčić took a victory and swept a strong male competition.

The keynote speaker to the third edition of JavaCro conference dedicated to Java platforms and technologies was Peter Pilgrim, one of the only a hundred people in the world with the title of Java Champion. Pilgrim lectured on digital development with Java EE in which he warned of the challenges Java has to undergo in order to remain relevant in the digital age.

Judging by the interest during and after the lecture, Iva Jelenčić and Mark Kuljanski held a very interesting and informative lecture within the Trends & Future unit on how to take advantage of existing services (EJB) and bring them to the world of javascript (JSON).

JavaCro conference proved again to be an excellent combination of quality lectures and networking.
