Java Cro '13 overview

The second international Java conference in Croatia, JavaCro ’13 was held on June 3 – 5, 2013 in Tuhelj. We enjoyed excellent lectures on a variety of themes as well as the brilliant organization of both formal and informal parts of the conference.

With three lectures held at the same time structure, everyone was able to find an interesting topic for themselves.

Key lectures delivered by guest speakers were:

  • What’s new in JDK 8 by Dalibor Topić
  • Unlocking the Java EE platform with HTML5 by Geertjan Wielenga

Other presented topics were Social networks&Java, Scala framework, Spring framework, NoSQL, etc.

Tihomir Tomašević and Emina Elezović held, judging by the interest during and after it, a very interesting lecture on how to retrieve data from most popular digital channels and convert them into Useful Data.

The conference concluded Java is still one of the most popular languages in the development of business applications, while making efforts to take leadership in the development of mobile applications.
