Insight system-Bookstore version for small bookstores installations started

Insight Enterprise is now in production for about a year in Distriks distribution company, and implementation of Bookstore version is on the way, in approx. twenty bookstores throughout Croatia.

Insight Bookstore system is specially adjusted for small bookstores, with only one personal computer, which supports all business activities. Implementations have started at the beginning of November, and will continue until the end of the 2005, in cities:

Čakovec, Dubrovnik, Koprivnica, Makarska, Rijeka, Split, Varaždin, Vukovar, Zagreb.

Design and development of Insight system started in 2003, when market need for product which can satisfy needs of book trade industry was spotted. Project preparation phase took a few months, during which our designers and project team worked closely together with specialists for that field. Specific needs of book trade industry were compared to traditional ERP systems (wholesale, retail, procurement, etc.), and differences were processed accordingly.

Insight System is specially optimized for specific articles which it handles. It completely supports specifics of books as items (articles), namely lots of attributes which are necessarily defined to describe particular book in the system, and which are missing in traditional (general purpose) ERP systems. But Insight is not limited to book trade articles only (books, magazines, and even oftener CD/DVD products), it provides possibility to define any article group (with specific attributes), and even services. This gives Insight system applicability in various business environments, for example in bookstore, stationery and photocopy shop.

Insight has detaily elaborated commission sales, which is extensively used in book trade industry. It is possible to define more companies simultaneously in the system, which can (but must not) share master data definitions (articles, partners etc.).

Besides mentioned, Insight system contains a lot of functionality usually found in large trade companies, but implemented in a way which enables its usage in large and small companies. For example, complexity of fine granular access rights (necessary in large companies), are hidden behind simple user interface, and additionally access rights are pre-defined in Bookstore system.

Insight Bookstore system has been implemented in bookstores which have received donation by CEEBP (Fund for Central and East European Book Projects) from Amsterdam, and the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs Matra Programme, which have also supported and partially financed development of Insight system.
