First phase of the Data Warehouse project for Macedonian Telecom has successfully finished after eight months, in cooperation with HP. During this phase, several steps were undertaken. We have implemented our standardized solution for ETL process automation. Data Warehouse model has been built based on Geneva system from Convergys, for internal traffic charging, billing and collection, and based on InterconnecT system from Intec, for traffic between external carriers and service providers. Both systems operate on Oracle database.
Data Warehouse was built with Oracle Warehouse Builder 10.2.0.2, and implemented on Oracle 10.2.0.3 database.
One of main problems that had to be solved by Neos specialists during this phase was achieving acceptable performance of the ETL process, due to very large data quantities present in Telecom industry.
