Highlights of OOW 17 and Neos as exhibitor

October 18, 2017

Journey to the Cloud is only just beginning!

As our announcement for the Oracle conference we used their motto Discover your tomorrow, today! Now, when we look back to conference that has passed we can most definitely say and agree with Oracle’s new moto “The journey is just beginning”.

The biggest IT conference in the world was held in San Francisco from 1st to 5th October and gathered more than 60 000 people. That is a lot to write let alone to describe everything that happened at Oracle Open World.

We can say that this is now annual Oracle convention that includes pretty much everyone from business decision-makers, IT managers, developers, end users and many, many more.

Just to look at the statistics that Oracle gave, it is pretty impressive what was going on during those 5 days.

The world’s largest conference for Oracle customers and technologists had 2,311 sessions. Sessions led by 3,048 Oracle customers and partners. At least 523 of those sessions had been focused on emerging tech.

We are proud to say that we keep up with all of these partners and clients at the conference. For the first time Neos was exhibitor at Oracle Open World and we came in big number. Our CEO, Davorin Capan and CTO, Mario Mrljić were there, as well as our Executive Manager, Davor Stanić and our Delivery Manager, Mario Nimac. As part of sales and marketing department, Ivana Ćirić Kovačević and Lada Lukavec Vidić were our representatives.

It was fun and educational at OOW 17. We met some interesting people and potential partners where we can grow our business net. Products that we promoted were Neos Profitability Insight, Neos Data Integration, Neos SNA for Telco and Neos ADF KickStart. The most important thing was that we show to ourselves and to others that we are side by step with today’s technology and Oracles improvements.

Presentation of Neos products included a website where one can view and download materials such as Neos references, case studies and brochures about all Neos products. We certainly invite you to check out the link

This year Oracle’s focus and priority was definitely preparing and building IT platforms for the cloud. Next step was to enable customers to shift their business to the cloud. As confirmation of importance of Cloud to Oracle, Oracle CEO, Hurd said: “Movement to the cloud is an investable destination.” On the other hand, Oracle CTO, Larry Ellison in his opening keynote shared with his audience information about the next generation of Oracle advancements across SaaS, PaaS and IaaS. He also gave a big announcement about Oracle Autonomous Database which is the world’s first “self-driving” database.

Beside sessions and round tables, probably the most important other place at OOW 2017 was at Howard Street. It was outdoors, where you could sit down with your colleagues, partners, customers and watch keynotes or just grab a drink and enjoy fresh air. Oracle also made interactive map with visitors via the Community Wall. That wall was an interesting way of getting connections with Oracle people during this event. It was visually interesting and made people feel engaged.

The end of the conference was at Oracle CloudFest 17 and to be honest it was interesting as the whole time at the conference. Concert at AT&T Park was crowded with all of us enjoying music and good time provided by Ellie Goulding and The Chainsmokers.
